It is a process that systematically integrates gender perspectives into legislation, public policy, programs and projects. The process enables making women and men’s concerns and experience to be made an integral dimension of the design, implementation, and evaluation with the goal of achieving gender equity.
Gender-Based Violence (GBV), is a global pandemic affecting 1 in 3 women in their lifetime. 35% of women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence. Globally, 7% of women have been sexually assaulted by someone other than a partner and 200m women have experienced female genital mutilation. Promotion and protection of, and respect for, the human rights and freedoms of women should be mainstreamed into all policies and programs aimed at the eradication of poverty

- Gender and social economic development (economic outcome of GBV)
- Social and economic costs of GBV
- Underlying risk factors for GBV
- Gender Smart Solutions
- Multi sectoral approaches and interventions for gender mainstreaming and GBV prevention
- Opportunities for reducing the gaps between men and women and preventing GBV on infrastructure projects

The course targets, Project Managers, Resettlement officers, Sociologists, Environmentalists, Planners, Land Acquisition Supervisors among others.
